Qi Gong
Description:
Qi Gong is a program for seniors which uses gentle movement with breathing, meditation, imagery, sound, self-accupressure and self massage. Qi Gong will boost your energy and decrease fatigue, alleviate chronic aches and pains, reduce stress, create inner calm, promote deeper sleep and much more. Sandwich Community Health Centre Seniors Programmer coordinates this program every Wednesday from 10:30 - 12:00 at St. John's Parish Hall, beginning September 10 - November 26, 2008 and then January 7 - June 17, 2009.
Your Responsibilities:
Encourage communication, socialization and participation in the program.
Learn the art of listening while encouraging the clients to provide input into their health care needs.
Work in a team environment to assist with set up and clean up of room.
Learn process of how to complete a referral.

Focus on health assessment of the participants in conjunction with an RN.
Learning Opportunities:
Increase knowledge about Qi Gong and the health benefits it provides to our clients.
Improve communication skills/techniques with clients.
Increase knowledge about health and quality of life related to aging.

Understanding the importance of advocacy and outreach opportunities.
