Project Manager

Currently, SCHC is seeking a Project Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert, third party, quality assurance on all individual project plans, status reports, issues and risks logs, etc. as it relates to the amalgamation requirements for two existing community health centres
  • Work closely with the management team to assess the scope of work required for the various components of the amalgamation and develop RFPs, as required
  • Provide feedback to Project Leads, including CEO, Directors and Managers and Board members where quality descriptions of deliverables (short and long-term), costs, and interdependencies, etc. appears deficient, and/or where health of project does not appear correct
  • Coach and train task groups in project management tools and processes and project management "right" practices in the context of the project management culture and maturity
  • Develop and maintain all Project Management templates, tools and processes
  • Ensures all tools, templates and processes are relevant to the work at hand and to the skills and expertise of users
  • Communicates, trains, and provides ongoing support to users of the tools, templates and processes

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on and extensive experience in managing, overseeing and leading a large multi-sector stakeholder project
  • High level of tact and diplomacy to deal with many project stakeholders
  • Experienced communicator (written and verbal) and presenter
  • Strong change management skills to ensure adoption of new processes, tools across the organization
  • Knowledge of industry and project management practices and tools 
  • Experienced coach and trainer
  • Strong change management skills to ensure adoption of new processes, tools across the organization  
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent experience
  • Strong practical analytical skills to apply the appropriate level of research, analysis and evaluation to the portfolio and resource loading
  • Experience with a health or social services amalgamation would be an asset
  • Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 2007, including MS Project and Visio
