Physician:

The Sandwich Community Health Centre (SCHC) is located in Windsor, Ontario. The Centre was opened in 1989 to serve the residents of a geographically designed catchment area in West Windsor. The Centre is looking for permanent full-time physicians who can practice medicine in the province of Ontario.

Windsor, Ontario is Canada's southernmost destination! The city's location provides excellent accessibility to 60% of the entire population of the United States and Canada. The area offers residents access to headline concerts, major sporting events, access to Canadian and US shopping destinations, international airports, tourist attractions, world renowned theatre productions, restaurants and many other exciting things to see and do within Windsor, Essex County and Metro Detroit.

Windsor, Ontario is designated an "underserviced" area. The opportunity to travel to Windsor to learn more about us can be arranged. Return of service grants from the "Free Tuition Program" and "Under Serviced Area Grants" are available to help you begin your new practice.

Physician opportunity to work at the Sandwich Community Health Centre

• No overhead costs, clinic setting
• Work on the weekend and holidays is at your discretion
• 9 paid statutory holidays and 2 float days paid
• Flexible work hours
• Opportunity to work with and make referrals within the Centre to members of an interdisciplinary team including experienced Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, Registered Dietitians, Chiropodist, Nurses, Massage Therapist
• On-site laboratory pick station
• Free on-site parking
• Time scheduled for case conferencing

Full-time Position

• Salary - $185,000.00 plus stipends/MoHLTC OHIP incentives (Stipend currently $2676.48)
• 35 hr. work week
• Physicians are entitled to 4 weeks annual paid vacation, 1.5 sick days per month (5 weeks vacation after 5 years of service)
• Paid Professional Development Leave - five (5) days.
• Entitled to a benefit package which includes: benefit coverage can include family members/same sex spouse, pension plan - self directed - employers contribution is 4% of physician's salary, greenshield - after 3 months of employment (comprehensive dental plan, vision $250 every 24 months for eyeglasses/contact lenses, drug plan - no co-pay, life insurance - 2 times the physicians annual salary, long term disability - 2/3 of the physicians monthly salary - $7500 per month maximum, out of country travel insurance, private room if hospitalized, benefit coverage can include family members/spouse, leave with pay up to three paid days may be granted for compassionate reasons for the death of a relative.
