Fit Kids Summer Camp
The Fit Kids Summer Camp was first offered in 2004 as part of a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MoHLTC) initiative, Job Creation Placement program. This is a self help/mutual aid, educational group for boys and girls from six to twelve years of age. The goals of the group are to provide a fun and easy way to be physically active, provide a healthy snack daily, provide health information to bring home to parents, and to provide health information that is age appropriate for the youth who attend. This two hour program is offered twice a day at ten different recreational centres located in the West End of Windsor for the entire summer. This program is very popular and has grown every year with a record 1,200 children attending the 2008 program!
