At the Sandwich Community Health Centre, we believe that it is important for clients to know that our staff and the Centre have rights and responsibilities to ensure a safe environment.

 

EMPLOYEE RIGHTS                                                                                     

Sandwich Community Health Centre employees have the right to:

  • Be treated with consideration, courtesy and respect in a manner that fully recognizes the employee’s dignity, individuality and cultural background.
  • Have all personal information remain confidential unless required by law to be disclosed.
  • Receive clear directions related to job expectations/responsibilities.
  • Participate in decisions directly affecting professional performance.
  • Receive constructive feedback regarding the employees work performance.                                                                                                                                   
  • A job description and to skills training where appropriate.
  • A safe work environment.
  • Express concerns without fear of reprisal.
  • A supportive environment (in all issues of dispute).

EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

Sandwich Community Health Centre employees have the responsibility of:

  • Treating others with consideration, courtesy and respect in a way that fully recognizes their dignity, individuality and cultural background.
  • Treating clients with consideration, courtesy and respect in a way that fully recognizes the (client’s dignity, individuality), level of health, abilities, sexual orientation, and cultural background.
  • Treating all colleagues with respect and continually striving towards a collaborative outcome on all issues of client care.
  • Identifying the most effective and appropriate treatment plan for each client in collaboration with the client, family and all disciplines.
  • Using a team approach to problem solving that focuses on improvement.
  • Giving clear directions to colleagues and clients related to expectations/responsibilities.
  • Respecting and continually upholding the organizational Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Identifying and reporting safety issues promptly to prevent injuries to co-workers.
  • Participating in all issues of Quality and Risk Management that focuses on improving care and reducing all risks.
  • Performing assigned duties to the best of their ability while maintaining respective professional standards.
