Ecumenical Celebration

The Ecumenical Celebration has been offered by SCHC for eleven years. The program was developed at the request of the Seniors Advisory Council (established 1990). The members of the Seniors Advisory Council provide input into this program. The members also run the program by acting as ushers, doing the readings and other activities that might arise to support this celebration. The Ecumenical Celebration brings together all the different clergy from within and around the catchment area, and allows for a time of worship with the opportunity to embrace different religions within the community. This is a staff-facilitated program open to all adult community members. The Ecumenical celebration is held once a year and the community churches rotate hosting the event. This year (2009) the celebration was at Bedford United Church.
