Community Garden
Your support and participation at the Garden last year told us that we should continue with this program!
The garden will be bigger this year so that more families can participate! We are very fortunate to have the support of the Walmart Evergreen Green Grant. Evergreen is a not-for-profit organization that makes cities more livable. The grant will be used to support parts of the implementation of the garden. Besides Walmart Evergreen, we would like to extend a warm thank you to the various donors in the community who have contributed to the garden this year.
The Community Garden named, A-Grow-Culture, is a free program of (Sandwich Community Health Centre) Windsor Essex Community Health Centre and everyone is welcome to participate.
Last year's garden produced hundreds of pounds of fresh produce. Fresh fruits and vegetables are important in a healthy diet. Yet, fruits and vegetables are often the most expensive items at the grocery store.
What can we do?
(Sandwich Community Health Centre) Windsor Essex Community Health Centre is working with Leadership Windsor/Essex again, a volunteer group made up of community leaders, to create a community garden.
We are inviting anyone who is
- interested in gardening
- interested in growing health fruits and vegetables for your family and neighbours
- interested in helping us plan or run this garden...
...to please contact Judy, Garden Coordinator, at (519) 254-3402 ext. 126 or by email at jchappus@sandwichchc.org.
Where: 3735 King Street, Windsor, Ontario (corner of King St. and Prince Rd. - on the lawn next to the Sandwich Teen Action Group building) - Click here for a map
