Breathe Free - Quit Smoking Support Group

A quit smoking support group was first offered in 2004. This program was requested by clients who want to reduce or quit smoking. This self-help group is provided for men and women twenty years or older. Typically this group is self referred, doctor referred, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) referred, SCHC clinic referred, Smoker Help Line referrals, etc. The goals of the group are to provide information, support and assistance for people who want to reduce or quit smoking. Educational materials are provided by the Cancer Society. The program is offered once a week, for 1.5 hours per week, from September to May at the Elms site located on the Western Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital.

 

This group is for anyone:

  • Thinking of quitting, but not sure how to do it.

  • Not ready to quit, but wants to come and get information.

  • Successfully has quit, but needs support to remain smoke free.

  • Is in the process of quitting, already on the patch, or other medication.

- It's open to all adults of all ages.

- Can be self or doctor referred.

 

This program is offered at Windsor Regional Hospital (Room location to be announced at a later date).
